APM PMQ Training Courses

The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)  is for those wishing to achieve a broad level of project management knowledge sufficient to participate in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects. PMQ is for anyone who has worked within project management for two to four years, or who has recently taken on project management responsibilities.

The PMQ training may be gained via one of three main routes - classroom, online or distance learning.  Both classroom and blended learning (a mix of distance and face to face classroom learning) are suspended until social distancing measures are relaxed.  For all versions, we now use the online APM examination.

This online examination is held when the delegate is ready. Delegates need to ensure that there is adequate time available:

  • to carry out any required reading before the training starts, and
  • to study and revise before the examination, and
  • to fully understand the examiners requirement that the candidate's answers reflect both knowledge AND understanding.

Delegates should start their studies before arranging a date for the online examination.

APM PMQ Courses

PMQ Online Learning plus online exam

Study at home or at work with this online PMQ course; training is by webinar and the APM examination is online.

Note that delegates should read the Study Guide and listen to the podcasts BEFORE accessing the flipped-learning webinars.

The online learning management system that we use is called Moodle, which is the same system employed by many of the top universities in the UK and overseas. Moodle allows students to access course materials, gain feedback, contact tutors, upload work, see marks and much more, all by logging in to their very own online account.

The course fee is £1199 + VAT.

PMQ Distance Learning plus online exam

This version is for those who prefer to study the MSC APM PMQ Study Guide and video podcasts on their own, without the training webinars. The examination-preparation webinars are held online on Friday mornings every two weeks. The online examinations are held on Monday mornings every two weeks.  The course fee is £849 + VAT and includes the online APM examination fee.

Project Management Advanced Course

The training is divided into two parts: explaining the syllabus topics and exam preparation/revision. The first part (four days) concentrates on the required knowledge, and the second part (a one-day examination workshop) develops understanding of the material - the links between topics - that is an essential component of an examination answer.  The APM online examination is taken when the delegate is ready.

Cost is only £1499 + VAT (including APM examination fee).

PMQ Online Examination only

APM is no longer holding open examinations for the PMQ. So we offer the exam only - no training - for £455.00 + VAT.

PMQ with PRINCE2 Classroom - SUSPENDED

This is designed for those who are PRINCE2 Registered Practitioners as the examination recognises prior learning from PRINCE2 in 18 of the 67 PMQ topics. The training is the same as in the full version of the PMQ.

Delegates may pay a fee of £1389 + VAT and attend any of our modular PMQ courses in London Westminster - this is a reduction of £110 on the normal PMQ fee.

Future Open PMQ Courses

Online training courses in the morning using the new BoK7 syllabus are scheduled  at fortnightly intervals with courses starting on Mondays 16 and 30 November, 14 December, 11 and 25 January, 8 and 22 February, 8 and 22 March.

These online courses do not contain filmed versions of a classroom lecture. Instead they contain flipped-learning webinars tailored for online learning; these supplement the 36 training podcasts available online.

Online examination workshops are scheduled every fortnight on Friday mornings - 6 and 20 November, 4 and 18 December, 15 and 29 January, 12 and 26 February, 12 and 26 March.

The APM online PMQ examination will be available every fortnight on Monday mornings - 16 and 30 November, 14 December, 11 and 25 January, 8 and 22 February, 8 and 22 March. Alternative dates may be arranged if necessary.

When social distancing measures are relaxed sufficiently by the Government, the MSC intends to restart classroom courses held in Westminster, London. The date will depend on availability of transport as well as the venue. Until that time, we will continue the full programme of online courses.

Delegates who register on a distance-learning PMQ course may upgrade later to online or (when available) to the classroom version by paying the difference in fees.

BoK6 exam workshops and examinations will be organised up to the end of December 2020.

Online PMQ BoK6 examinations - Monday mornings (starting 1 June) on the same dates as the BoK7 examinations.

Online PMQ BoK6 examination workshops - by arrangement.
