  • The examination is reduced to two hours in length.
  • Candidates should have a current PRINCE2 Practitioner registration.
  • The course fee includes the APM Examination Fee.
  • The course is structured in a modular format; it is divided up into two days per week over 3 weeks; this flexible format is convenient for those who cannot take a whole week off work. The examination is on the afternoon of the sixth day or may be deferred to a later date.
  • Helpful study guide built around the 73 assessment criteria in the APM syllabus. This is reduced to 47 assessment criteria for the two-hour exam.
  • 36 MP4 video podcasts are available - see the slides, hear the tutor.
  • Tutor experienced in project management and with twelve years presenting APM courses.

What is assessed?
The PMQ assessment involves one two-hour written essay-based paper - only 25 of the 37 topics in the PMQ syllabus are examined as 12 topics are deemed as prior learning from PRINCE2.

PMQ assesses the candidate's breadth of knowledge in all areas of project management, from strategic and commercial implications, to the technical, organisational, and people management skills required to participate effectively within a project team. Further details such as syllabus, candidate guidance notes and a sample paper can be downloaded from the APM website.

This qualification allows candidates to demonstrate knowledge of all elements of project management in order to assist in the management of projects. Candidates with this qualification will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how these elements interact. They will also be able to understand how their project fits into their strategic and commercial environment.
