APM PMQ Training Courses

The APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)  is for those wishing to achieve a broad level of project management knowledge sufficient to participate in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects. PMQ is for anyone who has worked within project management for two to four years, or who has recently taken on project management responsibilities.

The PMQ training may be gained via one of two main routes - online or distance learning.  Online is subdivided into an accelerated (four mornings in one week) version or an online classroom (four days spread over two weeks) version; both online and distance learning versions are supplemented with a morning or afternoon exam workshop held online.

The online examination is held when the delegate is ready. Delegates need to ensure that there is adequate time available:

  • to carry out any required reading before the training starts, and
  • to study and revise before the examination, and
  • to fully understand the examiners requirement that the candidate's answers reflect both knowledge AND understanding.

Delegates should start their online training before arranging dates for the online workshop and online examination.

PMQ Online Classroom plus online Exam

Project Management Advanced Course

Study at home or at work with this online PMQ course; training lasts for four days  (two days per week spread over two weeks) and is by webinar.

The course is divided into two parts: explaining the syllabus topics and exam preparation/revision. The first part (four days) concentrates on the required knowledge, and the second part, the examination workshop, develops understanding of the material - the links between topics - that is an essential component of an examination answer.  The workshop, on alternate Fridays, is taken when the delegate is ready.

The course fee is £1549 + VAT. It includes the four days of training, the examination workshop, the APM exam fee and the online support via MOODLE.

PMQ Distance Learning plus online exam

This version is for those who prefer to study the MSC APM PMQ Study Guide and video podcasts on their own, without the training webinars. The examination-preparation webinars are held online usually on Friday mornings or afternoons.  The course fee is £849 + VAT and includes the online APM examination fee.

Open PMQ Courses - When?

Online PMQ training courses  using the new BoK7 syllabus are normally scheduled once per month in either the accelerated or online classroom version.

These online courses do not contain filmed versions of a classroom lecture. Instead they are presented by the tutor and contain eight (or sixteen) 75-minute webinars tailored for online learning; these supplement the 36 training podcasts available online.

Online examination workshops are normally scheduled every fortnight on Friday afternoons - these are booked after the course starts - their cost is included in the overall course fee. Take the workshop on the day after the training finishes or defer to a later Friday.

Apply to the MSC for your examination when it is convenient; five working days notice is needed to set up the exam.

Delegates who register on a distance-learning PMQ course may upgrade later to online by paying the difference in fees.
